Life and Health Producers

24 CE hours, including 3 hours in ethics every 2-year license term. The ethics CE requirement must be completed in an approved classroom course.

Annuity Training

Before selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuity products in Illinois, producers must complete a one-time annuity training course approved for at least 4 hours.

Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI)
  • Initial 8-hour training requirement: Before soliciting or selling LTCI products in Illinois, resident producers must complete an 8-hour LTC training course.

  • Ongoing 4-hour training requirement: After completing the initial training, resident producers must complete a 4-hour course on the subject of long-term care within 24 months of the completion of the 8-hour initial training course, and every 24 months thereafter

Failure to complete the on-going 4-hour training course within 24 months of completing the initial 8-hour training course will forfeit recognition of the initial 8-hour training course by the Illinois Department of Insurance, and will result in the initial 8-hour training course having to be repeated.
