Continuing Education State Requirements

Our continuing education packages are entirely online and are only $35 for all the hours you need. The American Online Insurance School courses let you quickly complete your CE requirements entirely online and get back out there.

The Basics

Agents are required to complete a number of continuing education credits, typically every two years.  Each state has its own requirements regarding the number of credits that must be completed, as well as requirements for courses addressing statutory updates, ethics, long-term care and flood.  Since each state has its own requirements, please see our Licensing Requirements page to see your state’s specific requirements. If you have questions about your state’s requirements, our team can help you select the courses you need.

Law and Ethics

There are a handful of states that mandate agents to include a course covering statutory updates, while many states require that an ethics course be taken.  These courses are included in the number of hours your state requires.  Please see our Licensing Requirements page to view your state’s continuing education requirements.

Long-Term Care

We have all the LTC training you need to stay compliant. Many states have an initial 8-hour training requirement, that requires producers must complete an 8-hour state approved Long-Term Care Partnership training before selling long-term care policies. In states where this is required, there is also typically an ongoing 4-hour training requirement that must be completed every compliance period thereafter. States that do have these requirements include these credits in the total number of continuing education credits needed to stay compliant. Again, since each state has differing continuing education requirements, please see our Licensing Requirements page to see your state’s requirement.

Elective Hours

Elective hours are the remaining balance of your CE requirement aside any law, ethics, long-term care or flood requirements you have. Most licensees can satisfy this requirement by completing any approved continuing education courses we have approved for your license type. Again, please use our Licensing Requirements page to view your state’s specific continuing education requirements.

We’ve got you covered

Most states mandate that courses can not be duplicated within a certain time period. Our system will recognize if you’ve taken courses with us in the past and we will not let you duplicate.

No need to worry about compliance

Our online courses are quick and easy, and entirely online. And if you miss something, we catch it. Betty, our Office “Captain,” is known for her attention to detail. If you miss a specific requirement or course, she catches it and makes sure that you have what you need.
