The Basics

All agents are required to complete 24 CE hours, including 3 hours in ethics, are required every 2-year license term. See below for details about additional requirements.

Annuity Training​/ Best Interest

Effective July 1st, 2021, licensees who sell annuity products will need to complete a new annuity course that includes the new Best Interest rules.

Public Adjusters

No more than 4 hours of continuing education credit approved for public adjusters shall apply toward the continuation of a Life and Health or Property and Casualty producer license.

Roster Fees

A roster fee of $1.00 per credit hour ordered is required to process course completion hours in Idaho and will be added to the order total upon checkout.

License Term

The license term is the last day of the licensee’s birth month every 2 years. For business entities, the license term is the first day of the month following the license issuance date every 2 years.

CE Carryover Allowance

No excess CE credit hours may be carried over to the next 2-year license term.

Course Repetition Rules

Courses may only be taken for credit once in a 2-year license term.

CE Exemptions

The following are exempt from Idaho CE requirements:

  • Nonresident licensees in good standing with their home states

  • Limited lines producers

  • Agents on inactive status

  • Independent adjusters
