To become a Life and/or Health Agent in Louisiana, you will need to do the following:
Louisiana does not require a pre-licensing course, so you can take as much time as you need. Pre-licensing education is valid for one year from the date of completion.
After passing the exam, apply for your license by completing an application at http://www.nipr.com.

You must be electronically fingerprinted at one of the PSI Louisiana sites, during regular testing hours, on the day of your examination. The prints will be forwarded electronically to the appropriate review agencies. You will pay the fingerprinting fee of $39.25 at the test site on the day of testing. The fingerprinting fee is payable to “PSI” by money order, cashier’s check, company check, VISA or MasterCard. Please note: this process may take up to 4 weeks and ink cards are not accepted.

Once American Online Insurance School has filed your pre-licensing course completion with PSI, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions on how to register and pay for the state exam. When scheduling your exam, be sure to use your legal name and personal information as it appears on your government issued ID. The state exam must be taken within one year of completing your pre-licensing course, and costs for the exam are $30 for Life exams or Health & Accident exams, and $53 for Life, Health & Accident exams.
There is no limit to the number of times you may take an examination if you fail during that one-year period. Examination fees are not refundable or transferable.

When scheduling your exam, be sure to use your legal name and personal information as it appears on your government issued ID. Bring a current form of identification (a valid Driver’s License, non-driver ID, passport, military ID, or government issued Alien Registration Card).
Your score will be displayed on screen at the end of the examination and a score report will be emailed to you.
