Arkansas agents are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education every 2 year license term to maintain their license, which must include 3 hours of ethics. When your continuing education requirement must be met depends on when you were licensed, and there are additional requirements that must be met to sell long-term care, annuity or flood policies.
Licensees must take courses in license type held. If multi-licensed, any course is allowed.
The last day of the licensee’s birth month, biennially, based on odd/even birth year.

Before selling LTC policies in Arkansas, producers must complete an 8-hour state approved Long-Term Care Partnership training. This requirement is included in the 24 total hours of continuing education.
After completing the initial 8-hour training, producers continuing to sell LTC must complete a 4-hour ongoing training every two calendar years. This is also included in the 24-hour requirement.
Resident licensed property and casualty producers who sell federal flood insurance policies are required to complete a one-time, 3-hour flood insurance course. This is included in the 24-hour continuing education requirement and must be completed before selling federal flood insurance policies.
Nonresident agents who are in good standing in their home state are not required to complete Arkansas-approved continuing education courses to be eligible to renew the Arkansas insurance license.
Non-resident producers planning to sell Long-Term Care (LTC) in Arkansas must take an 8-hour NAIC course prior to selling LTC in Arkansas.
Agents must have their CE credit hours posted prior to their expiration date and prior to applying to renew their insurance license(s).
American Online Insurance School provides online, printable certificates in Arkansas. Certificates of completion are available to print online immediately after the final exam is passed. Because American Online Insurance School reports CE credits everyday, producers are only required to maintain the original certificate of completion in his or her files.
